 As the temperature rises and the days grow longer, our desire to spend hours cooking indoors seems to wane. Luckily roasting pans and casseroles are making a comeback in today's kitchens and are quickly turning slow cooking into low-fat summer dishes.
Cocotte or casserole…
No matter what you call it, the casserole has been used for centuries for low-fat cooking in most national cuisines and, not least, in the world’s top kitchens. Steaming is by far the healthiest means of cooking, and with the classic roasting pan the casserole is experiencing a rebirth in Danish kitchens, as epitomised by the slow cooking concept. This is a popular trend which, given enough time, simple ingredients and a minimum amount of preparation, results in delicious dishes and gives plenty of time to enjoy the summer season.
Casserole with grill lid and multiple functions
This spring SCANPAN will increase its focus on the slow food trend and will launch a Classic casserole with grill lid.
