Slow Cooking for the Busy Summer SeasonAs the temperature rises and the days grow longer, our desire to spend hours cooking indoors seems to wane. Luckily roasting pans and casseroles are making a comeback in today's kitchens and are quickly turning slow cooking into low-fat summer dishes.



Cocotte or casserole…
No matter what you call it, the casserole has been used for centuries for low-fat cooking in most national cuisines and, not least, in the world’s top kitchens. Steaming is by far the healthiest means of cooking, and with the classic roasting pan the casserole is experiencing a rebirth in Danish kitchens, as epitomised by the slow cooking concept. This is a popular trend which, given enough time, simple ingredients and a minimum amount of preparation, results in delicious dishes and gives plenty of time to enjoy the summer season.


Casserole with grill lid and multiple functions
This spring SCANPAN will increase its focus on the slow food trend and will launch a Classic casserole with grill lid. This environmentally-friendly, aluminium casserole with ceramic titanium, non-stick coating allows you to cook without grease. The casserole’s grooved cover also functions as an independent pan for direct use on the stove or grill, which means that with this casserole, you not only get the most out of the ingredients’ juices and flavours, but an additional kitchen utensil as well.


Not just a roasting pan
The roasting pan is a must-have in today’s kitchen and a faithful companion when it comes to baking, sautéing and grilling. That is why a roasting pan is no longer just a roasting pan – at least not in SCANPAN’s wide assortment, which will expand this year to include a conical model. Just like SCANPAN’s other roasting pans, the new model is an all-around kitchen utensil which, thanks to its special frying pan base, can be used in the oven, on the grill as well as on the stove.
